Alex Oronov, the founder of Barishevka Grain Company, has passed on March 2, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, in age of 68, due to prolonged illness.

Alex Oronov has contributed last 20 years of his life to development of agricultural production, knowledge, infrastructure and rural areas of Ukraine. Alex concentrated all his efforts on development of an efficient and transparent company, its employees and their relatives and the inhabitants in the villages in which the company were active. Alex Oronov was always focused on social responsibility and was always politically neutral and never participated in any political initiatives or movements.

Barishevka Grain Company is, since nine years, 100% owned by BZK Grain Alliance AB (Sweden). Alex Oronov has left the Chief Executive Officer position in Grain Alliance three years ago. Due to illness, which required extensive medical care, he couldn’t fully participate in operations of the company, but he continued supporting it with his wide knowledge and experiences as a member of the Board of Directors.

All of us loved our partner, friend and colleague Alex Oronov. The loss of Alex Oronov is deeply felt and our thoughts go out to his family. The Grain Alliance team will honor the memory of the company’s founder by continuing further development and improvement of his work.
